Vampire Facial® and Microneedling

Vampire Facial® and Microneedling

Microneedling is one of the most comfortable and least invasive ways to rejuvenate the skin. Microneedling on its own is a fantastic anti-aging treatment, can be paired with a chemical peel for increased results, or can be combined with PRP- also known as the Hollywood favorite “Vampire Facial.”

What is the Vampire Facial and Microneedling?

Micro-needling involves several tiny, sterile needles in a pen-like device that are moved over the skin, penetrating to a specific depth and creating microscopic punctures that are invisible to the naked eye. Micro-needling has several benefits for aging and damaged skin as well as areas of thinning or sparse hair on the scalp, including Reducing the appearance of scars, wrinkles, and other visible skin imperfections, inducing the production of new collagen to improve the strength and structure of the skin, promoting the generation of fresh, new skin cells without irritating the skin, and providing quick treatment that is easy to fit into any busy schedule. While microneedling is effective as a standalone treatment, here at The Beauty Lab, we pair it with PRP to optimize results.

How Much Does the Vampire Facial and Microneedling Cost?

Microneedling on its own is $200 per treatment. A Microneedling/Peel combination treatment is $250, and the Vampire Facial is $400. We recommend doing these treatments in series of 3 for best results, and offer packages at a discounted price; 3 Microneedling treatments for $500, 3 Microneedling/Peel treatments for $675, and 3 Vampire Facials for $1000.

How Long Will My Appointment Take?

Microneedling and the Vampire Facial both take about 30 minutes for your full face. We will have you arrive 30 minutes early to apply a prescription topical numbing cream, and draw your blood if you are adding PRP to your treatment.

Is There Any Prep For This Treatment?

We are not able to treat sunburned skin or skin that has any open wounds, rashes, or extreme acne breakouts. Avoid ibuprofen and other blood-thinning medications for a week before your treatment. Please discontinue the use of retinol 4 days before your treatment. If you are doing a Vampire Facial, please remember to stay well-hydrated before your appointment- It is easier to draw blood from hydrated veins!

Are There Any Products I Should Be Using At Home?

We recommend using medical-grade skincare products all the time, but especially post-procedure. We recommend the SkinCeuticals Foaming Cleanser, $29, Epidermal Repair Cream, $49, and of course, you should always be applying at least a 35 SPF daily. We recommend SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion SPF 50, $29, and Skin Medica Essential Defense SPF 32, $29. We also recommend SkinCeuticals PhytoCorrective Mask for soothing and cooling the skin post-treatment for patients who receive more aggressive treatments, $39. If you need to apply makeup within the first 24 hours post-treatment, we recommend mineral makeup.

What is PRP and How Does it Work?

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, has seen much success in the areas of orthopedics and sports medicine and is taking the cosmetic world by storm for its ability to aid in regenerating fresh, new skin and tissues. Created from a small sample of the patient’s own blood that is spun in a centrifuge and separated into its separate components, PRP is the liquid portion of the blood infused with a high concentration of platelets – the cells responsible for clotting that also contain a high number of natural growth factors.

During the micro-needling process, the skin is opened up and able to more readily absorb products, including PRP. When infused into the skin during treatment, the PRP reaches the inner layers of skin, where it aids in the regeneration of fresh skin. Additionally, PRP can help improve circulation, restoring a youthful glow to dull skin. Microneedling with PRP can safely and effectively resurface the skin using the minimally-invasive treatment and the body’s natural resources. Results may vary from patient to patient, but most patients experience long-lasting, subtle enhancement that lasts for several months.

How Long Does the Vampire Facial and Microneedling Last?

Results vary from patient to patient depending on skin type, skin care concerns, and how aggressive their Microneedling treatments are. In general, Microneedling and the Vampire Facial provide long-lasting results, and most people like to do a treatment once a year for maintenance once they have completed their series of treatments.

Does the Vampire Facial or Microneedling Hurt?

Worried about pain? Don’t stress! We will make sure you are nice and numb, using our prescription numbing cream.

Is There Any Downtime or Recovery After This Treatment?

Most people may look a little red (like a sunburn) for the first 24 hours. You may be a little red and tender and have tiny micro scabs on the skin for up to 7 days after your treatment, but most of our patients report feeling like they are back to normal after 3 to 4 days. You need to keep the area treated out of the sun for 7 days post-procedure. Avoid any products on the skin for a minimum of 4 hours post-treatment.
