Laser Scar Treatment

Whatever your scar is from, we want to help you feel good about your skin!

What is Laser Scar Treatment?

Laser Scar Treatment is a treatment using a laser called Frax 1550 or sometimes Microneedling. Both of these processes help resurface and smooth the skin. These treatments safely deliver micro-injuries to deeper layers of your skin without causing harm to any of the surrounding tissue. This process triggers the body’s natural ability to heal, causing the skin to rebuild collagen. While the treatment only lasts a few minutes, the replacement of collagen in the treated area is a gradual process, and continual improvement can be seen for a period of 3-6 months. After repeated treatments, stretch marks and other scars are smoothed out and resurfaced.

How Much Does Laser Scar Treatment Cost?

Laser Scar Treatment is $250 per 4×4 area. We offer single treatments or discounted packages of 3 for $625. How many treatments are needed varies per person. It depends on how old the scars are, the color of the scars, and how quickly your body heals. We always recommend doing a series of treatments- most people see the best results after 3-6 treatments. Self Harm and Track Mark Scars are treated for free through the Don’t Leave Foundation at Beauty Lab + Laser.

How Long Does the Laser Scar Treatment Last?

Laser Scar Treatment can drastically reduce the appearance of the treated scars permanently, but may not erase them completely.

Does Laser Scar Treatment Hurt?

Worried about pain? Don’t stress! This treatment is quick and most patients say they feel a little heat and tenderness. We do have the option to numb you using a prescription-strength numbing cream that we will apply 15 minutes before your treatment.

Is There Any Prep For This Treatment?

Drinking plenty of water 1 week before your treatment is highly recommended. The Frax laser is highly absorbed by water. The more hydrated you are the better your treatment. A few things to note before your appointment. If you have taken any photosensitizing medications, like antibiotics, you will need to wait 2 weeks from your last dose to be treated. We can’t treat skin that has any self tanning lotions, sprays or products on it. We can’t treat sunburned skin, or skin that has any open wounds or rashes. And if you have been on Accutane you will need to wait 6 months from when you stopped taking it to be treated. Other than making sure your skin is treatable, just come into your appointment and we will take care of the rest!

Are There Any Products I Should Be Using At Home?

We recommend Alastin’s Regenerating Skin Nectar $129 to speed up the healing process and help soothe the skin. We also recommend using a SPF 30+. We carry multiple brands of SPF including ColoreScience, Alastin and SkinMedica.

How Long Will My Appointment Take?

Depending on the size of the scar Laser Scar Treatment can vary from 10-20 minutes. If you would like to numb the area with a topical numbing cream you are welcome to come 15 minutes early. Your time is precious- we don’t want to waste it!

Is There Any Downtime or Recovery After This Treatment?

There isn’t any significant downtime after Laser Scar Treatment. You may have a little bit of redness and be tender for up to 7 days after your treatment, but most of our patients report feeling like they are back to normal after a day or so. You need to keep the treated area out of the sun for 7 days post-procedure.
