What to Expect and How to Choose my Peel?
What Peel you decide to do completely depends on what your skincare needs are.
Salicylic Peels will treat oily and acne-prone skin. Perfect for clearing up breakouts!
Lactic Peels will hydrate your skin, give you a fresh glow, and are safe to do during pregnancy.
Glycolic Peels will target light pigmentation, fine lines, and wrinkles, and will firm and tighten. This is the perfect anti-aging peel, as well as our number one choice to prep the skin for microneedling and IPL treatments.
Advanced Corrective Peels target sun damage and pigmentation issues, and are safe for all skin types.
Vitalize Peels are perfect for improving texture, sun damage, and stave off the signs of aging skin.
Your treatment includes a cleanse, using medical-grade products, followed by the chemical peel solution being applied to your skin. After the peel has activated, we will put a soothing gel on your skin, as well as an SPF.
How Long Do Results Last?
The Glycolic and Lactic peels will give you a dewey and radiant look for up to a week, with long term results of improved texture, coloring, and lessening of fine lines after repeated treatments. The Salicylic peel will help to clear up acne breakouts within a week. These peels can be done every two weeks.
The Advanced Pigment Corrector and Vitalize Peels have long term results after repeated treatments.
Do Peels Hurt?
Our light peels can make you feel some tingling and slight stinging as the molecules activate in the top layers of the skin, but the solution is neutralized after 2 minutes and you will go back to feeling totally normal. The Advanced Pigment Corrector and Vitalize peels are a little more intense and strong, and most clients report feeling that same tingling and stinging, accompanied by a little heat.
Is There Any Downtime or Recovery After This Treatment?
The light peels are totally non-invasive, so besides a little redness (that is usually gone by the time you get home,), there is no downtime or recovery. Some patients will report having a little dryness and flaking, but no actual peeling.
The Advanced Pigment Corrector Peel and Vitalize Peel do have a little social downtime. Most people are a little red for about 24 hours, followed by 3-7 days of peeling. The peeling process can be as minimal as just some slight flaking, or can be like shedding like a snake! It depends on how much skin there is to exfoliate, as well as how in-depth we go with your peel. You and your esthetician can decide together what the best options are for you!

How Long Will My Appointment Take?

Is There Any Prep For This Treatment?

Are There Any Products I Should Be Using At Home?
We recommend using medical-grade skincare products all the time! Our personal favorites are the SkinCeuticals Foaming Cleanser for sensitive skin, $29, SkinCeuticals LHA Cleanser for acne-prone skin, $39, and the Skin Medica AHA/BHA Cleanser for exfoliation (or an everyday cleanser for aging skin.) For moisture, we all swear by Skin Medica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator, $99, and Skin Ceuticals Triple Lipid Restore, $79. And of course, you should always be applying at least a 32 SPF daily. We recommend SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion SPF 50, $29, and Skin Medica Essential Defense SPF 32, $29.
