How does Laser Hair Removal work?

We utilize both Alexandrite and ND:Yag laser technologies to provide safe, fast, and comfortable treatments for any skin type! The laser is seeking one of two targets; either pigment in, or blood supply to the hair follicles. Gentle pulses of energy pass through the skin and into the hair follicle, which after repeated treatments, destroys the hair follicle and stops hair from growing.
Every client is different, but most people need 10-12 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart. On average, clients experience 20-30% less regrowth after each treatment and a gradual decrease in hair thickness. With an overall hair reduction of 80-90%. Laser hair removal is not effective in areas where the hair is blonde, red, grey, or thin.

How Long Does Laser Hair Removal Last?

Laser hair removal is a permanent hair reduction. However, hormonal changes can trigger regrowth, which can usually be taken care of with a touch-up.

Does Laser Hair Removal Hurt?

Worried about pain? Don’t stress! This treatment is quick and most patients say they feel a little heat and tenderness, but nothing too bad! We can use an ultrasound gel that cools the skin! If you are concerned about pain, we encourage you to stop in for a test spot so you can see how it feels!

Who performs this treatment at Beauty Lab + Laser?

We have several AMAZING estheticians at Beauty Lab + Laser. Visit our “About Us” page and read about our laser and skincare gurus.

How Much Does Laser Hair Removal Cost?

We price laser hair removal by body area. A series of treatments are needed, usually 10-12, in order to remove the hair long-term. Results vary per person and may be different for different body areas. For example, it’s common for patients to need fewer treatments on the lower legs but may need more treatments on the face. We have done away with large packages and like to customize packages to our #Beautylabbers needs! This is why we offer single treatments or discounted packages of 4. That way, you aren’t locked into purchasing treatments you don’t need.

How Long Will My Appointment Take?

Laser Hair Removal is pretty quick! An extra small area, like the upper lip, takes about 5 minutes, the Labzilian area takes about 15 minutes, and half legs take about a half-hour. You can return to normal activity almost immediately. Your time is precious- we don’t want to waste it!

Is There Any Prep For This Treatment?

Yes! We require a face-to-face laser hair removal consultation before your first treatment. This can be done right before your first treatment.

Unlike prep for waxing treatments, we want you to get a close shave the night before or the morning of your appointment. Too much growth above the skin can increase your chances of burning. We also insist that patients keep the area being treated out of the sun for a week before (and after) their treatment. Self-tanning products (spray tan, gradual tanning lotions, etc.) cannot be applied to the treatment area 2 weeks before your appointment. Photosensitizing medications, like antibiotics, cannot be taken 2 weeks before your treatment. If we are treating your face, you must discontinue active ingredients like retinol and topical acne products 3 days before your treatment. If you have been on Accutane, you need to wait 6 months before being treated.
