What Can I Expect During My Appointment?
Your esthetician will ask about your concerns and skin care goals before beginning. Once expectations have been set, we are ready to begin. There are typically 3 steps of this chemical peel treatment. 1- A thorough cleanse. 2- A pre-treatment solution is applied. 3- The application of the peel. Your esthetician will finish by going over post care instructions and products (the Perfect Derma Peel™ comes with a take home kit) so you can get your best results.
How Long Do Results Last?
Results from the Perfect Derma Peel™ typically last several months, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and skincare routine. Most clients enjoy a brighter, smoother, more even complexion for about 3–6 months after one treatment. For best results, a series of peels spaced 4–6 weeks apart is often recommended, followed by maintenance treatments once or twice a year. Using daily SPF and medical-grade skincare will also help extend and protect your results.
Do Chemical Peels Hurt?
The sensations you feel depend on the strength of peel used. You can typically expect to feel prickling and/or heat, itching, and feeling tight. We use a fan to help make your treatment more comfortable. Within a few minutes these sensations will dissipate and you will feel back to normal before you walk out the door.
Is There Any Downtime or Recovery After This Treatment?
Yes, there is some mild social downtime. Most clients experience redness for the first day or two, followed by peeling that usually starts around day 3 and can last up to a week. During this time, skin may look dry and flaky, similar to a sunburn peel. While you can return to work and normal activities right away, many clients prefer to plan for a few “low-key” days until peeling subsides. By the end of the week, fresh, radiant new skin is revealed.

Is There Any Prep For This Treatment?
Discontinue use of retinol, active ingredients like glycolic and salicylic, and any topical acne creams 5-7 days before and after your treatment. We can’t treat skin that has recently been waxed or lasered. We can’t treat sunburned skin, or skin that has any open wounds or rashes. So other than making sure your skin is treatable, just come into your appointment and we will take care of the rest!
Are There Any Products I Should Be Using At Home?
We recommend using medical-grade skincare products all the time! We carry Alastin, Skinceuticals, Skin Medica, SkinBetter and Plated Skin Science. Our expert estheticians can help guide you through putting together the perfect aftercare routine.
